I suppose every blog ought to have some kind of introduction, so here’s mine.
I’ve never been particularly good at staying interested in just one thing.
I can start out reading about drones and end up wondering about the history of air defense. Something happening in the news can remind me of something I saw thirty years ago. A conversation can send me looking for the answer to a question I hadn’t even thought about an hour earlier.
One thing leads to another.
That’s pretty much how my mind has always worked, and it’s where the name of this blog came from.
I’ve worn a lot of hats over the years. I’m an Army brat, a former law enforcement officer, a business owner, a husband, father and grandfather. I’m interested in preparedness and readiness, but I’m also interested in history, technology, people, current events, business and any number of other things that don’t fit neatly into one category.
I’m certainly not an expert on all of them.
That’s part of the point.
Sometimes I’ll write about something I know pretty well because I’ve lived it. Other times I’ll be trying to understand something right along with whoever happens to be reading. I may tell you what I know, what I think, what I’m wondering about—or occasionally what I got completely wrong.
I don’t see much reason to pretend otherwise.
This part of the site is where I can be a little less formal than I am in the Articles. There may be observations, experiences, opinions, questions, things I’ve learned and things I haven’t quite figured out yet.
There probably won’t be much of a pattern to it.
That’s intentional.
I’m not interested in producing something just because a calendar says I’m supposed to. If something catches my attention and I think it’s worth writing about, I probably will.
Where that leads, I don’t know.
But that’s kind of the idea.
One thing led to another.

Great perspective, thanks for taking the time to share….
